Vestax are direct competitors to the Technics turntable but for me have never really lived up to the hype. I have used this deck on a number of occasions, the deck is ok but for me you might aswell just buy a set of Technics. The Vestax turntable is horrible to look at, feels plasticy and has a needless gizmos on it.

The PDX-2000 Mk2's are seriously good decks in that they are an alternative to Technics!! They dont lose speed - ever - you get your beats matched, its gonna sit there and play records at EXACTLY the same speed until you have finished concentrating on the thing that matters - blending the 2 tracks together.

After abusing them for a long time I think they are superior to Technics - the platter is a lot heavier and once you get used to the feel of them I think you get more control over them than you do with Technics. Plus there's no little click on the pitch fader when you pass over 0% pitch!!! (Ed: compared to Mk2 & Mk3 1210's).

Only issue with the Vestax PDX-2000's is that Technics are the industry standard... and you probably wont find a pair in a club!! But to be fair, if you master these then switching to Technics for an evening won't be a big struggle...
