Pioneer DJM-600 DJ Mixer

Site Review: The classic from the Pioneer mixers range. A whole range of effects built into this solid 4 channel mixer have made it a favourite amongst every kind of DJ. Found in many top nightclubs the world over, it's legendary fx unit broke new ground in the dj mixing world, with such effects as phaser and flange available by pressing it's "magic button". It was so good, Behringer produced an imitation cheap version the DJX-700, which shifted plenty of units as well - to this day we do not know how they got away with it!.

What a disaster this mixer is. It's ok if you're just pissing around in your bedroom, or through a mish-mash rig but put it through an Opus rig and you instantly hear the lack of quality. It destroys the signal before allowing 'DJ's' to twist it up some more, then fill your beautiful analogue rig with modified square waves. I only have one as a back-up to my Vestax PMC500, PMC400 and Allen & Heath X:one 92 Mixers. Fortunately they are reliable and I've yet to use it at a paid event.

My contempt for this device knows no bounds. Buy one if you want a plastic toy. PS. Ditto for the DJM-800, it destroyed the sound quality of an Orb gig this year. Utter pants.
