The jog wheel is "Real time" which means it accelerates the track in time with how you move the wheel (unlike say the Pioneer 100s which has a fixed acceleration curve). Id say the wheel is probably a bit too sensitive but with a bit of practice you will like how it works. The pitch on the Axis 9 ranges through 6/12/100 which is plenty for most applications.
Scratch mode isnt the greatest on the small wheel but it is a touch sensitive wheel meaning it is possible to scratch on it.
