Site Review: The choice of many professionals for digital DJ'ing, NI's Traktor 3 DJ software has several unrivalled features that just make you wanna say "wow". How about 4 fully-featured virtual decks, allowing you to mix upto 4 tracks at a time, or bring in acappellas and loops as you please. A software mixer won't come much better than the virtual emulation of Allen & Heath's Xone:92 either - including all the detail such as variable crossfader curves, the flexibility of the Xone's 4-band EQ's, and of course the fabled A&H filters across all 4 channels.

There's more too, how about integrated access to Beatport's Online Music Store?! Allowing you to browse, buy and download directly into NI Traktor's library. Backed by an ultra-fast database, you can also skip through a track in seconds, as you would old-school style with a vinyl. Advanced loop editing and automatic gain control are just some of the other features as well.

Supporting multiple MIDI controllers, NI's Traktor 3 software is certainly battling with Ableton's Live for the top-spot in live DJ performances, and gives that extra-edge for those DJ's who don't produce. Backed by a host of top names, including techno's Richie Hawtin (see the NI Traktor 3 demo video by him) you'll be hearing a lot more about Traktor in the years to come.

Oh, we almost forgot...NI Traktor 3 is also the powerhouse of the Traktor Scratch system, available as a separate product, which allows control via vinyl and cd decks, much like Stanton's Final Scratch (an earlier version of Traktor is also used for this software!) & Rane's Serato Scratch Live.

At just £79 for the DJ software, it's incredible value for money too.
